Freda Liu

A sought-after global speaker, best-selling author, broadcast journalist, emcee, moderator, and trainer, Freda Liu has conducted close to 10,000 interviews with thought leaders like Simon Sinek, Nobel Peace Prize Winner Muhammad Yunus of Grameen Bank, Former Prime Minister and President of Finland Alexander Stubb, author Stephen Covey, to former GE CEO Jack Welch. An author of 7 non-fiction books, she is a familiar face in corporate and business events as a moderator and emcee. Her books cover women empowerment, business and personal development.

She currently discusses sustainability on The Shift Asia, a podcast show. Freda has sat on both sides of the fence over 30 years having worked in Edelman PR, IBM and RTM and then with BFM (a business radio station) , understanding what both sides want and need for a compelling story. Freda has the ability to manage to connect the dots and has been instrumental in connecting government agencies and venture capitalists helping to build the BFM brand. She is also involved in business development having brought in several clients including Allianz, MDEC, Chivas Regal and Sunway Corporations amongst many others into sponsored segments.

She helped develop the first flagship event “Enterprise Breakaway” which began in 2010 connecting the business community and this has grown from strength to strength. Her ability to understand what’s on the ground with other events like Enterprise ROCKS (Retail, Outlets, Commerce, Kiosks, Sales) and Enterprise Takeaway (F&B) to continue to make the brand fresh and relevant.

Freda is currently an advocate for World Vision Malaysia under WASH (Clean Water & Sanitary Hygiene). a mentor for the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women and a brand ambassador for the Women of Global Change KL. She recently started a Pre-accelerator initiative with Leet Ventures to encourage more women in entrepreneurship.
